Mission Statement “The Mission of the WMHA is to provide safe, sanitary, decent and affordable housing to low-income families,while at the same time providing its families the opportunity to grow socially, economically and financially. WMHA strives to give respect to, and earn respect from, every member of our community and to give those members of our community the very best possible service, without regard to their sex, race, religion or nationality.” Who We Are The Warren Metropolitan Housing Authority (WMHA) is a public nonprofit organization, charted by the State of Ohio, funded in part through the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development to provide subsidized housing and resident initiative programs for eligible citizens of Warren County. The WMHA operates in accordance with the Federal Fair Housing Law. It is the policy of WMHA to house persons without regard to race, color, religion, sex, family status, handicap, or national origin. The WMHA was created on April 4, 1973 and is operated by a five (5) member Board of Commissioners. Two (2) members by the chief executive officer of the most populous city in the territory included in the district, in accordance with the last preceding federal census, one appointee of the chief executive officer for one (1) year term and one appointee of the chief executive officer for five (5) year term. One member shall be appointed by the probate court for an initial term of four (4) years. One member shall be appointed by the court of common pleas for an initial term of three (3) years. One member shall be appointed by the board of county commissioners for an initial term of two (2) years. Thereafter, all members of the authority shall be appointed for five-year terms and vacancies due to expired terms shall be filled by the same appointing powers. The current WMHA Board of Commissioners are: Robert Alexander, Chairman; Madelyn Coons; Dave Gully; Larry Dempsey; Linda Baysore.
